Independent Consultants
We specialise in the provision of contract staff who are recognised and practised Subject Matter Experts. Such people have invariably worked previously in a senior capacity (e.g. partner, director or managing consultant) for either one of the Big 5 management consultancies or a leading systems integrator prior to becoming an independent.
The practitioners provided cover a broad range of activities. Examples of typical assignment work include:
- Establishment of governance regimes and processes.
- Freedom of information, data protection, data quality and exploiting data in the organisation.
- CRM and electronic delivery of services.
- Programme initiation, programme delivery and programme health-checks.
- Knowledge management.
- Risk management and business continuity planning.
- Bid leadership and bid management.
- Contract and SLA/OLA negotiation.
- Business case development.
- IS strategy planning.
Clearly in many cases, clients wish to engage consultants through traditional consultancy firms, particularly where such a firm is providing expertise in their own proprietary method or product. However in some cases, there may be benefits in using highly experienced practitioners who are (and can also be seen to be) truly independent of any organisation which supplies systems integration/outsourcing services, or of any loyalty to a particular proprietary method, tool or product. This may especially be the case when that independent person is needed to advise and guide both the client and their outsourcing partner on commercially sensitive issues where objectivity and transparency are key. Such work may involve acting in the capacity of an independent consultant, for example giving advice on best practice, but could equally be to fulfil a leadership role on an interim management basis.
